Vienna has a dense public transport network and more and more cycle paths. A folding bike fits right in: Wiener Linien treat it as hand luggage, even where regular bikes are not allowed.
U-Bahn, tram and bus (Wiener Linien)
Wiener Linien treat folding bikes as hand luggage, allowed everywhere, including buses and trams. Regular bikes may only go on the U-Bahn, weekdays 9:00-15:00 and after 18:30, all day at weekends; never on buses or trams.
By train (ÖBB)
Folded folding bikes travel free on ÖBB trains, on regional trains in the multi-purpose areas and on Railjets in the luggage compartments. Folded, a STRIDA measures approx. 113–115 × 51 × 23 cm.

Your employer and tax
A company bike you may also use privately and for commuting counts as a taxable benefit of €0, also through salary conversion above the collective agreement. Your commuter allowance (Pendlerpauschale) stays. See § 4b Sachbezugswerteverordnung.

Service in Vienna
No chain, no oil: a STRIDA is simple by design. With our manuals you do most jobs yourself, and every part is in stock, for older models too. Prefer a local workshop? We support them with advice and parts.
A STRIDA needs little maintenance: no chain to oil and a belt that lasts a long time. And what does need doing, you can mostly do yourself: the wheels are mounted on one side only, so you change a tyre without taking the wheel out of the frame, and our manuals guide you step by step. Still stuck, or no time? Give us the name and e-mail address of a bike shop near you: we will introduce ourselves and help them with advice and parts.Put us in touch with your bike shop →
