US import duties (updated Feb. 24, 2026)
Our shop is based in the Netherlands, but STRIDA bikes, parts and accessories are made in Taiwan. That is why the US import duties for Taiwanese goods apply.
Previous import duty: 11%
Before the new tariffs a bicycle from Taiwan had an 11% import duty. On a base price of $1,000 that added $110, for a total of $1,110.
February 2026 trade agreement: 15%
Under the U.S.–Taiwan Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (February 2026) the US import tariff on Taiwanese goods is capped at 15%, applied without stacking on top of other tariffs.
For a STRIDA bicycle: 15% of the declared customs value. On a declared value of $1,000 the duty is $150, for a total of $1,150 after duty. This replaces earlier provisional rates. Parts and accessories can have lower rates: if the tariff rate of a part is 5%, it stays 5%.
Possible exemption: 11% may apply
Under the agreement more than 2,000 Taiwanese product categories are exempt from the 15% tariff and only pay the standard US Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) duty. It is not yet fully clear whether bicycles (HS 8712) are on that list. If they are, the duty goes back to the standard MFN rate of about 11%.
