Barcelona adds bike lanes every year, but the climbs to Gràcia, Montjuïc or Tibidabo make combining bike and public transport attractive. A STRIDA folds in seconds, goes on the metro or bus, and fits in a small flat.
Metro and bus (TMB)
On the metro folded bikes may travel at any time; regular bikes have time slots on weekdays. TMB city buses only take folding bikes, and only when folded.

By train (Renfe, Rodalies)
A folding bike travels free on Renfe trains (except Avlo) when fully folded. Folded, a STRIDA measures approx. 113–115 × 51 × 23 cm.

Your employer and tax
In Spain we know of no national tax benefit for a bike through your job (October 2026). Under the new Sustainable Mobility Act (Ley 9/2025), companies with more than 200 employees must have a commuting plan in which cycling can play a part: ask your employer. Know a scheme? Let us know.
Which STRIDA suits Barcelona?

Keeping your STRIDA going in Barcelona
No chain to oil and a belt that lasts: a STRIDA needs little maintenance. Our manuals show you how to change tyres, the belt or brake pads, and every part is in stock. Rather use a workshop? Any good bike shop in Barcelona can help; we support them with advice and parts.
A STRIDA needs little maintenance: no chain to oil and a belt that lasts a long time. And what does need doing, you can mostly do yourself: the wheels are mounted on one side only, so you change a tyre without taking the wheel out of the frame, and our manuals guide you step by step. Still stuck, or no time? Give us the name and e-mail address of a bike shop near you: we will introduce ourselves and help them with advice and parts.Put us in touch with your bike shop →
