Milan is flat with a dense network of metro, trams and the Passante railway: ideal for combining bike and public transport. A folded STRIDA comes along and tucks away in an office or a small flat.
Metro, tram and bus (ATM)
A folding bike is always allowed as long as it is folded; regular bikes are always allowed on the metro too. Folded, a STRIDA measures approx. 113–115 × 51 × 23 cm. One bike per passenger, clean wheels, out of the way.

By train (Trenitalia)
On national trains a folded folding bike travels free in the luggage space.

Your employer and tax
In Italy we know of no national tax benefit for a bike through your job (October 2026). Some employers offer a bike as a staff benefit (welfare aziendale) within the fringe-benefit limits, and some municipalities pay an allowance for kilometres cycled: ask your employer or your municipality. Know a scheme? Let us know.

Maintenance in Milan
No chain, no oil: a STRIDA needs little maintenance. With our manuals you do most yourself, and every part is in stock. Prefer a Milan bike shop? We help them with advice and parts.
A STRIDA needs little maintenance: no chain to oil and a belt that lasts a long time. And what does need doing, you can mostly do yourself: the wheels are mounted on one side only, so you change a tyre without taking the wheel out of the frame, and our manuals guide you step by step. Still stuck, or no time? Give us the name and e-mail address of a bike shop near you: we will introduce ourselves and help them with advice and parts.Put us in touch with your bike shop →
