The Hague has trams and RandstadRail right to the coast: from Centraal to Scheveningen or Kijkduin, then on by bike. STRIDA itself is based in The Hague, so your bike comes from your own city.
Tram, RandstadRail and bus (HTM)
HTM allows a folding bike on trams and buses when it is fully folded: it then counts as hand luggage. Folded, a STRIDA measures approx. 113–115 × 51 × 23 cm.

By train
On the train a folded folding bike travels free as luggage, also in rush hour. A regular bike needs a bike day ticket and is not allowed in rush hour.
Your employer and tax
In 2026 your employer may pay you up to €0.25 per kilometre tax-free for your commute, also by bike. Through the work-related costs scheme (WKR) your employer can give or reimburse a bike tax-free, directly with us or via FiscFree. A company bike you also use privately adds 7% of the list price a year to your taxable income. Dutch bike vouchers (Nationale Fietsbon)? Email us at info@strida.nl and we will see what is possible at the moment. More from the Belastingdienst.

Maintenance in The Hague
A STRIDA needs little maintenance: no chain to oil and a belt that lasts. Sea air is hard on chains, but a STRIDA has none. With our manuals you do most jobs yourself, and every part is in stock, for older models too. Prefer a bike shop in The Hague? We are happy to help them with advice and parts.
A STRIDA needs little maintenance: no chain to oil and a belt that lasts a long time. And what does need doing, you can mostly do yourself: the wheels are mounted on one side only, so you change a tyre without taking the wheel out of the frame, and our manuals guide you step by step.
